Jun 14, 2023
CHICAGO (June 14, 2023) – Today the National Independent Soccer Association announced its May Performers of the Month awards. Determined by a select set of NISA front office staff, the winners are:
Player of the Month: Player who demonstrated his abilities on the field above and beyond any other player in the league.
Ignacio Ten Lopez, the Argentinian forward for Club De Lyon FC, scored four goals in May. Three came in the form of a hat trick on May 21 against Gold Star FC Detroit. Importantly, that led CDL to its historic first professional victory.
Coach of the Month: Coach who led his team to significant results and led by example both on and off the field.
Head Coach Diego Gomez led ALBION San Diego to a 3-1-0 mark in May, outscoring opponents 7-4. Most importantly, the club jumped up the table four spots.
Club of the Month: An off the field award to the Club that best promoted their brand and image within their local community.
Chattanooga FC continued its successful “Cause of the Match” series with AIM Center on May 6, The Speech and Hearing Center on May 24, and Friends of the Troops on May 29. The club also worked with volunteers to create and deliver military care packages for military service members.
Operations Team of the Month: Awarded to the Game Day Operations staff who best embraced and followed the league standards set forth by the league office.
Club De Lyon FC has met head on all the logistical challenges of a club hosting their first professional matches. With two more matches under their belt after the month of May, the game day staff, led by Dani Dekhanov, has continued a string of excellent operational productions behind the scenes. The club met all match day requirements and executed timelines with an expert degree of proficiency early into its inaugural pro season.
