Maykell was born in Nicaragua, Managua, moved out to Miami,FL at the age of 3years old with his Mother and Grandfather. Maykell started playing soccer when he was 8years old. When he first played soccer he was a striker until one game the team goalkeeper got injured and he volunteered to be the goalkeeper, during the match the referee called a penalty kick against his team. Maykell made his first save during the penalty shot and carried his team to victory, after that game Maykell decided to be a goalkeeper for the rest of his soccer career. Maykell satrted his goalkeeper development with Kendall soccer coalition from the age of 12 through 18. From the age of 16 he played in the DA( Developed Academy) system with Kendall soccer coalition. Maykell after his senior year took some time off and went to Costa Rica and was training with a first division team called C.S. Herediano, after his time in Costa Rica he decided to play for Broward college for 2 years, during he’s offseason he would play UPSL1 with Miami United. Now he’s a member for Flowercity union and he’s excited for this new chapter of his life here in Rochester, NY.
